Cloudy Beach Days and Visiting the USS Midway

Last week on our first Summer camping trip the weather was not ideal.  It was warm but very overcast everyday except for the last day we were there.   The girls did not mind though and were in their swimsuits as soon as we arrived.  They never seem to mind what they weather is like they are just happy to play.

After showers and dinner they rode their bikes and then they made some friends which ended in them all playing in the sand together for most of the night.

While the girls were off playing we played cornhole.

Once it got really dark the girls came back to join us at the firepit for some s'mores.   Brooklyn ended the first night with a cut on her foot, she did not like having it cleaned but she did enjoy having her daddy carry her.

The next morning was overcast again and instead of wasting the morning sitting around we decided to take the girls to check out the USS Midway

We were there for over four hours and I was very much over being there.  It definitely wasn't my favorite museum I've been too but the rest of the family did enjoy it.

Brooklyn opted to not stand on the glass floor with us.

Before we left we of course had to check out the gift shop.  Brooklyn spotted this hat and then saw the goggles and immediately said she had to have them.

I would've never guessed this would be something she would want but she wore it non stop the rest of the camping trip.   We had to tell her to take it off many times!!!

We were starving when we left and since there was a Stone Bistro nearby we of course had to go.  Another delicious meal and beer at Stone.

We had to tell Brooklyn to atleast take the goggles off while we ate.  She ordered Sausage Wellington and loved it!  I was proud of her for ordering something completely new.

A bathroom selfie because the men and womans restroom met together at the hand washing station.  Where else would we see daddy when we are in a public restroom!!

After our bellies were full we were ready to head back to the campsite.  Fingers crossed the skies would be cloud free when we got there!

It was partly cloudy off and on which is better than completely overcast so we couldn't complain.

We were all happy to finish out the day on the beach.

I love that first one... you should frame it - it'll help get through the long winter!
