Birthday Weekend

Friday was this guys birthday!

We were ready to celebrate as soon as he walked in the door.

We let him open presents before dinner because who doesn't want to open their presents right away??

He got lots of fun gifts but I think his favorite was this belgian waffle maker.   He LOVES waffles and makes them for us on the weekends.  Our old little waffle maker just couldn't compare to a new delicious belgian waffle maker.

We ate dinner at home and enjoyed dessert out on the back patio while the girls played on the trampoline. 

Saturday morning we woke up ready for our first soccer game of the season.

Brooklyn had her first game of the season and it was also her first game on a much bigger field!

Her team won 3-0 and she did great!  She even scored one of the goals for her team.

After the game the grandparents came back to our house for some lunch.  Later in the afternoon the girls and us headed out to a few breweries so the birthday boy and I could enjoy a few drinks.

The girls enjoyed a root beer and a watermelon seltzer.

For dinner we went to our favorite sushi spot

and then off to another brewery that is very family friendly.

It was a great family night and I think we all had lots of fun together.   Sunday morning hubby put his new belgian waffle maker to use and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast!

The rest of Sunday was spent getting things ready for the week.  We had to fit in our usual chores somewhere in between all the fun we had.
