San Francisco ~ Day One

Every October the girls have a four day weekend and we usually go camping but this year we took advantage of the long weekend with a trip to San Francisco!

We had an early morning flight Friday morning and since the airport is near my parents house we decided to stay there for the night.  The winds were terrible and the electric company had stated there would be a chance of scheduled outages but nothing had happened yet.   We woke up bright and early Friday and about ten minutes in of getting ready the power went out, it was pitch black in the house!   The girls thought this was so fun once they had their flashlights in hands but I on the other hand was not so happy.   Getting ready with a flashlight is not so fun for a mom nor easy!   We did what we could and were all ready to load up the car when, yup the electricity came back on.  I mean as soon as we are ready to walk out to the car it came back on, so ironic (insert eye roll).

We got to the airport, went through security, grabbed some coffee, I fixed my face a little in the bathroom and then we waited.

Ready to board!

The girls were both so happy to have window seats for this flight and we were there before we knew it.  It's such a nice and easy flight into San Francisco.

We took the BART into the city which Brooklyn really enjoyed.

Family selfie as soon as we made it out into the light.

We checked into our hotel and were thankful they got us an early check in because we were all starving and couldn't wait to get some food!

A couple stops for some pictures on the way to our lunch spot.   We ate at The Grove which was delicious!

Beautiful churches everywhere in San Francisco and I loved these doors.

I love that these two are older and really enjoy and appreciate getting to go new places.   I love exploring with these two!

After we ate we headed to Chinatown to look around.  The girls really liked looking in EVERY single shop.

Eventually we left and walked around Union Square for a bit but we were exhausted so we decided our best bet was to go back to the room for a little while and rest before dinner.  We chose to eat at The Cheesecake Factory because the views and we knew some cheesecake for dessert would be a great idea.

We enjoyed this spot for a few hours and once the sun set we headed back to the hotel and called it a day!   We had to get some rest for our next full day at Fisherman's Wharf.

It looks like you had a great day. If you decide to take another trip to San Francisco you need to come at Christmas time. Can't wait to see pictures from day two.
