Paso Robles Getaway

We were so happy that we got to take a weekend and get a way just the two of us during a weekend in November.   The girls stayed with their grandparents while we drove up to Paso Robles to enjoy some wine tasting.

The hotel we stayed out was gorgeous!

After we got all settled in to our beautiful room we headed downtown to have some fun.

Our first stop was to do some wine tasting at Iron Oaks, we then went to dinner and after that walked back to the brewery next to Iron Oaks to enjoy a beer before calling it a night.

The next morning we ordered some pastries and enjoyed them and coffee in the room while we got ready.

Before heading out to our first winery of the day we walked around the hotel and enjoyed the grounds.

I did not enjoy this huge spider but I took the picture for Kayla who I knew would enjoy it.

The first winery we went to was Ernest Hemingway and was by far our favorite!   We really could've spent hours here but due to covid we were on a schedule so we stayed as long as we could.

The wines here were soooo good and our server was the best!

We were late to our second winery because we didn't want to leave the first one but we had a cheese platter waiting for us and I'm not one to turn down cheese by any means so we made sure to show up!

Our final winery of the day was way on the other side of town and friends had recommended it to us

It had beautiful views and the drive up was gorgeous, we saw deer on the side of the road.

The wine and the people were not so great though.   They were not too friendly and the wine was not that good but we made the best of it and enjoyed the views.

It was getting dark and just about all the wineries close around five so we headed back to the hotel and ate at the restaurant there.

Our dinner and wine were very good!

When we were walking back to our room we noticed the courtyard was set up for a private car event.   Chris is obsessed with cars so we did as much peaking as we could and got to see a lot of new vehicles not yet available.

Sunday morning we grabbed breakfast at the hotel before the drive back home.   I ordered the avocado toast and it did not disappoint!

Of course we had to stop and look at the cars in the daylight before leaving.

On the drive home we made a quick stop in Los Olivos to do some shopping and roam around before continuing home.

It was so nice to take a quick trip just the two of us especially since it has felt like forever since we had.  We definitely needed a getaway before everything closes down again!
