February Recap

Sharing a little recap of our twenty eight days of February.

Brooklyn often borrows my cell phone to call her friends on Friday afternoons so I find lots of pictures of her friends or of her.   They always make me laugh, she likes to take a selfie and then turns herself into a cartoon using the app, ToonMe.

Our first weekend of the February was full of fun with a birthday party for Brooklyn's bestie.

The girls really look forward to spending time with friends now-a-days.

Then on Sunday we celebrated Super Bowl at home with lots of snacks!

Brooklyn wasn't much into the game but sure enjoyed watching movies right next to the snacks.

Kayla enjoyed eating some chili and watching the game.

A fun little surprise when I spotted some daffodils sprouting that I had forgotten I planted last year.

This year will be Brooklyn's last year in elementary which means the last year of fun kid celebrations at school.   I have already been bummed she missed out on all of the class parties this year so I was happy that her teacher told the kids they could still exchange Valentine's.   She definitely wanted to participate so we printed out these cute tags and added a gummi bear pack and some cute panda stickers, dropped them off at her school and then a few days before Valentine's day we went back and picked up her bag of treats from her classmates.

Yay, for a small bit of normalcy!

My soon to be fourteen year old!!!

cozy reading spot

We had a crazy day of weather with wind and lots of hail!

Brooklyn had a special drop off from her principal!
She had reached her one million words read and was one out of only four kids this year that have made it so far.

We had to pick up our wine shipment this month so we took a drive out to our favorite winery.   We love visiting on Wednesdays because it's family night, they have live music, a food truck and it's never crowded.  The girls bring cards to play so they don't get bored while we get to enjoy our evening as well.

The girls always get a week off from school for President's week.   I found them playing Calico Critters together one of the days and my heart wanted to explode.  Brooklyn still plays here and there but Kayla not so much anymore so my heart was so happy to find them playing together once again.

These two are my shadows all day while the girls are busy in school and daddy is working.

Friday night pizza and a movie

with kitty cuddles

a chilly family bike ride for the girls and walk for the parents

playing cards

The girls and I went shopping one of the days while they were off from school and Brooklyn ran into a friend she hadn't seen since her birthday party.

They were excited to get a Starbucks after all their shopping.

We make sure to get outside as much as possible

Every February we get our taxes done which always means a date night for us!  This year we stayed overnight in a favorite city.

A delicious dinner and wine is never taken for granted!

Brooklyn and her uncle had a little guitar practice sesh.

W picked out some new bedding for the master bedroom and the cats obviously approved.  This now where they spend most of their days.

Brooklyn had crazy hair day and this is how I found her during her online school.

That's a wrap of our short month of February.

So much to love here, Shannon.
Your beautiful family, of course.
And the bond between your girls.
Those days of playing are treasures, aren't they?
Love your new bedding!
And Flynn did exactly the same thing during Superbowl!
