Kayla's Final Game and Closing Ceremonies

Kayla's team made it to the play offs this season and had their final game a few weeks ago.

They played their hearts out that week to get to the finals but the team just couldn't pull it together at the play off game and ended up losing.  Ending the season in 2nd place isn't so bad though!

Kayla didn't too well hitting again this season but she was a darn good catcher.  She says she doesn't want to play anymore which makes me a bit sad but maybe she'll come back to it in the future if not it's okay as long as she keeps with soccer or finds something else that she enjoys.

She had good teammates, made a new bestie and how neat that she got to have her dad help coach the team!

Right after Kayla's championship game they had closing day cermonies beginning.  Brooklyn's team was in the parade for the younger kids so I rushed over to catch her.

Brooklyn was in heaven, she was meant to cheer!

The girls ran around for awhile, playing in the giant maze bouncer and we caught up with friends before heading home and finally being done with softball for the season!

It's so nice having evenings back and being able to sleep in on Saturdays but it will not last long, soccer starts in two months and then we'll be busy all over again!

Brooklyn's End of Season Softball Party

We are in full Summer mode over here and I am determined to get all of my blogging up to date!  I'm hoping to get all the softball pictures on here this week so we can get onto what we are doing now that it is Summer.

Brooklyn was chosen to play one last game on the 6U Elite team and she was thrilled to play again!

Cute catcher

Kayla and her friend keeping warm at the game

After the elite game all the players got a chocolate donut, nobody complained!

After all the games were finally done Brooklyn had her team party at a nearby bowling alley.  This was so fun for the girls, they had a blast bowling and running around together.

The team moms put together this silly face team picture and had all the girls sign around the picture as part of the coaches gift, it was really cute

of course there were cupcakes

and the girls all took turns
signing their jerseys

trophies were handed out

and soon it was time to say goodbye to her friends

It really was a great season for Brooklyn, she was so lucky to have such amazing coaches and great girls on her team.

Brooklyn's Last Ballgame of the Season

A few weeks ago Brooklyn wrapped up her softball season with her last league game.  She has enjoyed playing so much this year and was very sad to be done with the season.  She improved so much this season and definitely wants to play again next Spring!

At first base in her ready position....always!

Out!

Out again!
Lots of action playing first base this game

Waiting patiently on deck for her turn.

Brooklyn has been struggling with batting throughout the season but the last few games she was getting some good hits and it helped her confidence a lot.

Safe at first....

and at home.

This picture below cracks me up because this is her...so her!  She LOVES to cheer on her teammates and is very loud.  Everygame she was usually the one leading the girls in the softball songs and cheering in the dugout.

At the end of every game the girls would form their circle, sway back and forth saying Roll Tide, Roll over and over again just like The University of Alabama's sports teams do in each of their games.

It was the cutest!

Before leaving one of her coaches sent them all home with adorable elephant(team mascot) bracelets and a mini bottle of champagne(apple cider) to celebrate an amazing season!

This team, the coaches and the girls have been my very favorite since we began five years ago when Kayla started playing.   It was everything a season should be for a kid and I am so thankful that Brooklyn got to be a part of it!!
